Short Guides

We are kicking off the release of a series of short guides on aspects of risk and risk management that relate to infrastructure.

We hope you find the first two of interest – for managing biases and using the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on infrastructure initiatives.

1 - Short Guide - Managing Bias

2 - Short Guide - SDGs in Infrastructure

Infrastructure Risk Research

The IRM Infrastructure Risk SIG would like to support some research being conducted by Matthew Hannaway into the extent that cultural factors affect the implementation of risk management in infrastructure projects.

Matthew recently presented at our recent Group event in Bristol, and the details as to how you can support his research are found via this link.

Managing cost, risk and uncertainty in infrastructure projects

The group’s research looked at the management of cost risk and uncertainty throughout the project lifecycle. The incentive for businesses is to significantly reduce the cost of projects by curbing unnecessary spend, especially of the contingencies allocated for cost uncertainty.
