Vacancy - Global Resilience Analyst - IHG Hotels & Resorts

Your day to day

This new position will be based in our Denham (but soon to be Windsor) office on the days you are in (we operate in a hybrid working environment).

An exciting opportunity to learn and work across 4 topical risk areas (incident & crisis management (including emerging risks), business continuity, profiling, resilience) within one team to ensure alignment across all programs and support the delivery of resilience advice. The role involves considerable business analysis of data gathered from all programs and would suit a proactive, curious, critical thinker who is keen to learn, develop and enjoys problem solving that could have impacts on a global scale. Working closely with the Director of Global Resilience, this role will support the ongoing implementation, coordination and embedding of the resilience teams’ programs across IHG.

  • Analyse external market, including public sector, competitors and international standards for best practice and benchmarking for business resilience and ensure IHG alignment.
  • Develop effective ways to help measuring and reporting on the effectiveness of the resilience team’s programs.
  • Work cross functionally with other team members in Global Resilience as needed on business data analysis to support program integration across the business.
  • Research and develop ways to showcase how we can quantify Resilience potentially through modelling and scenario planning.
  • Conduct business analysis of data gathered by the wider team – Look across the data across all four program areas within global resilience and link up interdependencies, connectivity, and potential single points of failure.
  • Using critical thinking, pull together dashboards, graphs and/or presentations to support the business’ understanding and engagement with the programs. This can then support conversations around identifying and agreeing risk appetite appetite/tolerances levels across the business.
  • Work with regional risk partners to identify topical focus points to develop helpful, bespoke, and timely playbooks aligned to business priorities to support clarity and alignment on ways of working when managing incidents/crises.
  • Assess and deliver efficient information management processes within the team, whether it be uploading data into a new technology system or finding a system/way to upload and store information we are receiving to make it easy to edit, process and share when required.

What we need from you

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in business, audit, risk management or equivalent work-related experience (desirable but not a requirement).
  • Qualification or work-related experience in business data analysis preferred (non-technical or financial specific) and in strategy (desirable but not a requirement).

Technical skills and knowledge

  • Effective interpersonal skills with capability to work through people to achieve results.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to interact with different teams in a multicultural global environment.
  • Proactive, inquisitive, detail oriented, critical thinker with strong organization skills and aptitude to prioritize.
  • Project management aptitude and ability to process considerable amounts of information effectively.


  • 1 to 3 years recognized experience in similar role in a global environment preferable but not required.
