We would like to take this opportunity to thank Sarah Christman CFIRM for all of her contributions to the Group's activities and wish her all the best for the future.

Currently is a Risk Manager at Barclays.

We asked Maria for her thoughts on a few questions relating to the future of the group, here's what she said.

What are your plans for the group under your leadership?

In 2022 the group will continue to work on its objectives of providing a forum to explore risks in financial services and share good practices for enterprise risk management.

What would you say are the top issues facing Risk Managers working in financial services and what is the importance of good/qualified risk managers?

The evolution of virtual currencies has created opportunities and risks for the financial services industry. The industry is heavily regulated therefore Risk Managers in financial services are faced with issues of bringing balance across these opportunities and risks as well as complying with regulation. As we enter 2022 with Covid-19 still causing a lot of uncertainty, risk managers are faced with increased fraud and cyber risks.

Why should risk managers in the financial services sector join this group?

With so much uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, it has never been so profoundly important to have qualified risk managers in financial services who anticipate risks way ahead of materialisation and share ideas on how to manage the risks.
