Energy and Renewables SIG - New Year, New Energy?

2022 has been a turbulent year for the Energy industry as a whole, and it hasn't played out as expected for many participants. Within the risk management community, there has always been much focus on "horizon scanning" and "scenario planning", which usually covers a confusing multi-year timespan. With the beginning of the new year, the Energy & Renewables SIG is planning an online event titled "New Year, New Energy?" centred around near-term expectations and trend predictions for the Energy industry in 2023.  To filter out some of the noise of multi-year forecasts, we have invited three external speakers who present their (or their company's) view on the Energy industry in 2023.

Attendees will gain insights into near-term expectations and trend predictions for the Energy industry in 2023; our speakers will share their perspectives.  Each presentation includes a Q&A session to provide further clarifications.

Before OGA, he worked at Ofgem, the UK government regulator for the electricity and downstream natural gas markets, focused on wholesale energy market monitoring, REMIT investigations, the gas transmission price control and security of supply.

Mahamid holds a BSc Economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) and a Master’s in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics (LSE), where his dissertation was on oil prices and energy governance.
