Membership grades

We offer several membership grades. All of them give access to our full range of member benefits.

Certified membership	If you're serious about your career in risk management, why not maximise your potential by becoming a Certified Member (CMIRM)? Certification is the professional membership grade of IRM. It gives you an instantly recognisable badge of professionalism, demonstrating that you have the required technical competence, experience and a commitment to your own professional development. Student membership	For those who wish to study an IRM qualification in risk management. Whether you're new to risk management, aspire to progress in your career, work in a risk-related discipline or simply require a better understanding of ERM, we have the right qualification for you. Certificate membership	Certificate membership is automatically awarded to anyone who has completed either the International Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management or the International Certificate in Financial Services Risk Management. You may also qualify to become a Certificate Member if you have completed an external qualification. Find out more »
Affiliate membership	Open to everyone with an interest in risk management who does not wish to take a professional qualification. It’s ideal if you need access to IRM resources to help you in your role straight away. The quickest and easiest way to join is online. Find out more »
Technical Specialist (SIRM)	If you can demonstrate specialist knowledge in a specific risk-related discipline, such as business continuity, crisis management, health & safety, insurance, project risk management or security, you may be eligible to become a Technical Specialist. Find out more »
Group membership	If your risk management function has 10 people or more, you can enrol them under one group scheme for one fee and discounted subscription rates. This investment by employers supports the professional development of risk managers within their organisation. Find out more »
