Exemption Application Form (pdf - 224Kb)

Standard Exemptions

'Standard Exemptions' are established exemptions which have been awarded previously. As the IRM International Diploma is a new qualification there is currently no history of exemptions; the list will build up over time.

To apply for a 'Standard Exemption', students need simply to complete the exemption form and submit it together with the exemption application fee.

IRM's Exemption Panel is currently reviewing the following qualifications against the new syllabus, and will report back in due course. Any exemptions awarded will be listed here as 'Standard Exemptions'.

Glasgow Caledonian University BA (Hons) in Risk Management
Glasgow Caledonian University MSc in Risk Management
University of Southampton

MSc in Corporate Risk and Security Management

University of Southampton Msc in Risk Management
City University MSc in Insurance and Risk Management

Non-Standard Exemptions

The 'Non-Standard Exemption' route must be used for qualifications which don't do not appear on the 'Standard Exemptions' list.' Non-Standard Exemptions' are those which have not formed the basis of a successful application in the past.

To obtain a 'Non-Standard Exemption', students need to apply to the Exemptions Panel, who will review new applications on an individual basis against the IRM Diploma syllabus.

Once it has been established that a qualification meets the criteria for an exemption, it will be added to the 'Standard Exemption' list, and will then be available for future applicants on a 'Standard Exemption' basis.

Qualifications which have formed the basis of an unsuccessful application will also be listed here for information.

For information on how to apply, please see the application form (available here shortly)
