The Institute Risk Management (IRM), the world's leading professional body for Enterprise Risk Management, was delighted to sponsor one of Nottingham University Business School’s student prizes.

This year the winner was Scarlett Cureton who received her certificate from James Devlin, Dean of Nottingham University Business School. She is studying a BSc (Hons) in Management, taking the risk modules as electives.

Scarlett said:

"Risk management is important to both business and society, from learning how to frame questions to alter people’s perception of risk and their subsequent decisions, to learning how to secure your organisation from IT and security risks.

Risk management is of increasing importance for all and has never been higher on the agenda.

I am currently working towards a career in Management Consultancy, with the intention of further specialising into the risk management field.”

Ian Livsey, Chief Executive of the IRM said:

“I’d like to congratulate Scarlett on her academic success. We have a longstanding relationship with Nottingham University Business School and it’s great to see risk managers coming up through the profession.

Risk management touches everyone who works in business, in every department of the organisation. Risks can both be an opportunity and a threat and in an increasingly volatile and uncertain world risk management qualifications will arm business leaders to make more informed decisions.”
