Overview
Specialist (SIRM) membership of the Institute recognises those with specialist risk knowledge.
Specialist membership is open to any applicant who can demonstrate specialist knowledge in a particular area of risk e.g. disaster recovery, health sector risk management and financial risk. Applicants who can demonstrate evidence of relevant professional or academic qualifications AND appropriate risk management experience, or have successfully completed an IRM specialist course (e.g. Environmental Risk, Business Continuity and Crisis Management, Information Risk or Public Sector Risk) can apply for Specialist membership which enables the use of the designation SIRM.
A list of currently approved qualifications are listed below. Please note that Specialist membership is only granted to those who have completed whole qualifications in relevant subject area, rather than individual modules within a course.
The list below is not exhaustive and if you believe you meet the criteria to apply for Specialist membership, complete the form above attaching all relevant certificates and your CV.
If you have any questions on applying for Specialist membership, please contact Angela Barnes on angela.barnes@theirm.org or by tel: +44(0) 20 7709 9808.
