Road death investigations - How does your duty of care measure up?
Presenters: Les Owen and Ian Brooks .

Les and Ian held senior positions in the Met Police Traffic Division, working on corporate programmes and liaising with external fleet operators. They will use their extensive experience of investigating accidents and working to reduce vehicles deaths and link that experience to the updated 'road death investigation manual'.  The manual will affect organisations who use fleet operations to undertake their business activities. This session will be of particular interest to all risk managers whose organisations have fleet risks.
Helping shift-workers to work nights safely.
Presenter: Steve Goodwin, Principal Consultant, DNV.
Working unusual hours, or some form of shift work, have been necessary to meet a part of many business expectations around the world for a long time.  In fact as far back as ancient Rome, traffic congestion was lessened by ensuring deliveries were restricted to the night-time hours.  In today’s world, estimates vary, but approximately one quarter of the work force is involved in shift work.  This session will explore how schedule changes (with other measures) can help protect shiftworkers from injury and poor health.
