Past meetings:
The last meeting was held on 16th March 2006 at Aon Reed Stenhouse Inc. in Toronto.
The Canada and Northern America Group is continuing to grow and diversify with new members of the group from varying backgrounds, including Consultancy, Banking, and Construction as well as regulatory fields including Aviation and Manufacturing.
The latest meeting was centred around the topic of 'Benchmarking Enterprise Risk Management'. The integration of new members saw a healthy conversation ensue around the presentation topic.
Inaugural Meeting:
The inaugural meeting was held in Toronto, Ontario, on 8th December 2005.
Some of the agreed initial aims of the group:
- To widen the reach of the IRM
- To provide tangible benefits to those members who reside in North America
- To encourage growth in the membership of the IRM within the region
Our aim is to compliment, rather than compete with, other groups such as PRIMA. For instance, PRIMA tends to be more orientated to financial risk, where as our interests may lie more in organisational, operational or project risk management.
