A special presentation will be held for IRM members on Thursday 25 February 2010 to hear Dr Gareth Shepherd, who will outline Risks and Opportunities - 2010 and Beyond, as considered by world leaders at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos-Klosters in January.
Gareth will raise the questions: what are the broad lessons from the financial crisis for investors, risk managers and decision makers? Why do rare events have such huge impacts? Why do forecasts (and forecasters) fail? How can systems and organisations be made more robust? How can decision makers navigate the pitfalls of biases and heuristics?
This is a superb opportunity to hear about the big risk issues facing our world and how they will impact on our own organisations and our own lives.
