Practical Risk Tools – Risk Workshops and Risk Models
Red Amber Consulting and The Risk Agenda, in partnership with The Institute of Risk Management will be running a one day event designed to provide the basics for two of the important risk tools essential for any risk manager or analyst: namely risk workshops and risk models.
The morning part of the course is designed to help risk managers, risk analysts and all others to develop their abilities and to feel confident when presenting and running a full risk workshop.
‘The session on risk modelling will be based on Andy Garlick's book Estimating Risk: A Management Approach. This book covers the course material in more detail and a copy will form part of the course materials. This will enable attendees to extend their studies, if they wish, and also provide a practical guide to implementing their own risk models. Please note that copies will be issued during the workshop at no extra charge.’
During the afternoon delegates are introduced to the concepts of quantified risk modelling as a support to decision making, and the fundamental importance of risk in decisions. Areas covered are the concepts of risk modelling, how to determine the approach once the risk workshop is complete and what techniques to use.
The day will be informative and interactive, with hands on activities and discussions. The workshops will build on the delegates own experience with some group working and a group exercise. Delegates will be given practical inside knowledge and tools, and the opportunity to practice and apply the skills learnt to enable them to run their own workshops successfully, and to create effective risk models.
(NOTE: Whilst covering the principles of risk modelling, the course is not an in depth tutorial on the use of risk modelling software, although demonstrations will be given)
