Risk Officer and Business continuity Officer
37 hours per week (Monday- Thursday 08.30-17.00 and Friday 08.30-16.30)
The department is based at headquarters but will be relocating to Kelvedon Park in the near future.
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service have set its sights firmly on becoming an excellent-rated fire authority. To achieve its goal the service is seeking to recruit a strategic thinker able to engage and influence both within the organisation and outside.
This is a chance to make your mark in a newly-established post. You will support the service in delivering against its priority areas through the effective management of Risk and Business Continuity arrangements.
You will be knowledgeable in the disciplines of risk and business continuity management. With a back ground of delivering within a complex and progressive organization, part of your role will be to ensure that all groups across the Service understand their responsibilities in respect of Risk and Business Continuity Management. You will also work closely with the Risk Associations and other professional bodies.
Writing reports, developing policy and strategy, delivering presentation and keeping abreast of new developments and their impact will be part of your remit in this key role. We’re looking for a self starter who is also a good team player. You’ll be able to communicate at all levels, often as a driver and in many cases as ECFRS ambassador.
