Internal Audit Manager
37 hours per week (Monday- Thursday 08.30-17.00 and Friday 08.30-16.30)
The department is based at headquarters but will be relocating to Kelvedon Park in the near future.
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service have set its sites firmly on becoming an excellent-rated fire authority. To achieve its goal, the service needs a strategic thinker able to engage and influence both within the organisation and outside.
This is a chance to make your mark in a newly-established post. You will manage, monitor and respond to the demands of audit and assessment as set out by the Government and the Audit commission.
As part of the fire and rescue services modernisation agenda, ECFRS is striving to be more open and transparent than it has ever been before as we face increasing scrutiny and challenge. Part of your role will be to ensure that all groups across the Service understand their responsibilities in respect of Comprehensive Performance and Area Assessment. You will also work closely with the Audit Commission and other inspecting bodies.
Writing reports, gathering evidence, delivering presentation and keeping abreast of new developments and their impact will be part of your remit in this key role. We’re looking for a self starter who is also a good team player. You’ll be able to communicate at all level, often as a driver and in many cases as ECFRS ambassador.
