Job Title: Principal Risk and Assurance Officer
Employer: Warwickshire County Council
Location: Shire Hall, Warwick, UK
Salary:

PO4 £30,011 - £32,800 per annum

Our Risk and Assurance Service is responsible for providing audit, risk management and counter fraud services to the County Council and a number of external clients.

We have moved away from auditing financial risks towards providing assurance on key business risks and are committed to providing a high quality service to customers. We are pro-active in providing advice on new initiatives and on the prevention of fraud. This post provides the opportunity to be part of these developments and help add value to our customers. Depending on your experience and skills you will be responsible for high profile audits of key business risks, undertaking investigations into alleged financial irregularities and for providing advice to customers on managing risks and design of controls.

You should be IIA or ALARM qualified (or equivalent) and have a proven track record of working in a complex, preferably public sector, organisation. We offer the opportunity to develop your audit and risk management skills in a large and complex organisation.

Experience of local government is not essential but you must have the ability to:

• think creatively and find effective solutions to complex problems

• analyse and interpret complex information

• write clear and cogent reports

We offer a final salary pension scheme and exposure to a wide range of services.
