Job Title: Solvency II Senior Analyst - Prudential Risk Division
Employer: Financial Services Authority
Location: Canary Wharf, London, UK
Salary: £80,000 - £118,000 (depending on skills and experience) + excellent benefits

If you want to gain a truly unique view of Solvency II development, plus the opportunity to shape prudential regulation both domestically and internationally, bring your expertise to the Financial Services Authority (FSA).

Our Solvency II & Pensions Risk Team, part of the Prudential Risk Division (PRD), is integral to taking forward our Solvency 2 internal model assessment approach. Its remit includes internal model approval development, pension scheme related risks and prudential risks within insurance firms. Joining the team, you will be at the forefront of the insurance industry’s understanding of capital modelling and the evolution of the quantification of risk within the new regulatory framework.

Your initial 12-24 months will be spent exclusively on Solvency II internal model development activity, as part of a group of specialists dedicated to progressing the design for the implementation of internal model assessment. You can expect to be involved in thematic reviews, pilot exercises and testing, and providing advice, research and thought leadership. At the end of this phase, you will continue to be involved in Solvency II implementation while contributing to the ‘business as usual’ functions of the team. All in all, the scope of the work is huge and you will be working closely with divisions across the FSA and with firms within and beyond the insurance sector.

We are seeking a credit/market risk analyst with a proven track record in insurance that demonstrates capital models expertise and experience in regulatory capital requirements – it is also likely that you are a qualified actuary with ICAS or Solvency II experience. Both a self-starter and a team player, you will have the ability to translate technical concepts into practical solutions, plus the well-developed stakeholder management skills to influence and negotiate at the highest levels.
