Solvency II is a fundamental review of the solvency and risk management standards for the European insurance industry, with a view to strengthening the prudential regulation of the sector. As the sole regulator of the UK financial services industry, The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has a unique and influential role to play in its implementation, which will involve significant infrastructural and cultural change for both us and the firms we supervise.
Are you keen to develop your career at the heart of Solvency II implementation? We currently have a number of exciting opportunities to gain a detailed understanding of the future insurance regulatory framework and make a difference across the entire industry.
First and foremost, we need Solvency II Supervisors who can engage with senior management in regulated firms and make risk-based judgements, but the roles range from policy-making to analysis at various levels including Actuarials. Each involves working with firms throughout the industry and other disciplines within the FSA – so you’ll need to be a team player who can translate technical concepts into practical solutions and have the stakeholder management skills to influence and negotiate at the highest levels.
