We have recently set in place a rigorous new risk management system. Now we’re looking for an influential figure to set in place the strategies that will embed an effective risk management culture across the council. We’ll look to you to get out there and promote a better understanding of risk among your colleagues, offering expert advice and delivering training where needed. That will mean liaising at the very highest levels of the organisation to ensure a consistent, integrated approach.
You’ll come to us with senior-level experience in the field, ideally as a member of ALARM or the Institute of Risk Management and certainly in a large, politically sensitive organisation. Your detailed knowledge of the risk management agenda in local government will include an understanding of public sector insurance regulations. What’s more, you’ll have the strategic outlook and inspirational manner to manage and promote change through collaborative, cross-department working in a complex environment.
Closing date: 3rd March 2008.
