This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Risk Management function of the Legal and Compliance Services Directorate.  A challenging and rewarding role which has specific responsibility for managing the business continuity management programme and assisting in the delivery of the enterprise and compliance risk management infrastructure. 

This is an unique position forming part of the Legal and Compliance Services Directorate, a multi-disciplinary team providing a comprehensive proactive and reactive legal, risk and regulatory compliance service to North Yorkshire Police and to the Police Authority where appropriate.

You will work with (and report to) the Head of Risk Management, to ensure that the organisation meets and exceeds legal and best practice requirements in relation to Risk Management and Business Continuity Management. 

With the drive and enthusiasm to make a real difference in this vital arena, you will also have the ability to communicate with (and achieve ‘buy-in’ from) colleagues at all levels of the organisation. 

You will have a track record of providing a high level of service, managing the needs and expectations of internal and external customers. 

The successful candidate will have an excellent working knowledge of risk management and business continuity issues and ideally be a member of the Institute of Risk Management and the Business Continuity Institute or equivalent. 

It is recognised that the essential skills and experience outlined in the role profile are of a specialist nature.  Applicants who have sound risk management and/or business continuity experience, but who may not have expertise in both, should not hesitate to apply.
