The Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) was created in February 2008 to help prevent unsuitable people from working with children and vulnerable adults. The ISA will be at the heart of safeguarding the most vulnerable in society and will contribute immeasurably to the public good.
The ISA is an Executive Non-Departmental Public Body with an annual income of £12.9 million. The Home Office will be the sponsoring department of the Independent Safeguarding Authority. The Department for Children, Schools and Families and the Department of Health will be responsible for policy development.

As a result they are looking to recruit the newly created role of Risk, Assurance & Business Continuity Manager.

Reporting to the Head of Finance & Corporate Resources, you will be responsible for supporting the Executive Team and Board Members through the delivery of high quality risk management information.
Your responsibilities will include:
- The implementation & maintenance of the risk management strategy across the ISA. This includes working closely with the Board Members & Executive Team to ensure business risks are identified, understood and managed.
- Maintain a business continuity & disaster recovery plan to support the business.
- Engage effectively with external stakeholders to assess the impact of corporate risks throughout the business and to partner organisations.
- Raising the profile of risk management including supporting operational managers understanding of the risks underpinning the decision making process.
About you:
You will have previous experience gained in the implementation and delivery of a risk management strategy, including understanding the wider business benefits of sound risk management. With strong communication skills, you will inspire the confidence of the
Executive Team and Board Members
to continue to develop the risk and business continuity strategy through the business.
