Senior Retail Credit Risk Analytics Manager

Based in Hong Kong

As part of our ‘Managing for Growth’ strategy, the Bank is changing and growing fast. Credit Risk Management is a discipline that we see as a key partner in facilitating this growth.

Based in Hong Kong, part of the Risk Management and Reporting team of Asia-Pacific Credit Risk Management implements the Basel II framework in the Asia-Pacific region, in compliance with HSBC Group guidelines and regulatory requirements, with the aim of improving the Bank's risk management practices. We are now seeking an experienced banker to join us in Hong Kong, on local terms.

In this role, you will:                               

  • Deliver analytic solutions including scoring, validation, and models for retail portfolios to facilitate Basel II implementation across Asia-Pacific region
  • Evaluate standard processes to allow the sharing of best practices across the entire Asia Pacific region and other analytic centres
  • Communicate effectively with IT and other parties to ensure the smooth implementation of Basel II
  • Formulate processes and standards to monitor future Basel II initiatives

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • University graduate with a degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or Risk Management
  • A minimum of seven years’ banking experience within the field of credit risk, with a focus on predictive modeling
  • A good understanding of retail products such as credit cards, mortgages, personal loans and overdrafts
  • Experience in Basel II implementation is an advantage
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with various business functions on a regular basis to ensure adequate involvement and support in analytical projects
