The vision for Service Delivery, of which our Community Risk Intelligence department is an important part, is to 'reduce community risk through high quality delivery of our services'. Risk Intelligence is the critical first step in the risk reduction process, and as such this role is key to organisational success.
A Community Risk Intelligence Manager is required to provide effective leadership to the CRI department, managing the function to inform and direct planning and decision making at a Service-wide and local level. The successful post holder will undertake the lead role in the areas of risk intelligence analysis, data management, data/information sharing and geographic information systems. Key responsibilities will also be to develop systems, strategy, policy and processes, enabling the function to deliver currently and in the future.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead and support the team and work with people at all levels – both within and outside the Fire Service. A working knowledge of specialist IT systems and databases such as FSEC, CFRMIS, CLG IRS, statistical analysis systems (eg SPSS), modelling systems (eg Simul8) and GIS systems (eg ArcGis/MapInfo) is essential. Previous experience of working within an analytical and information management related field is also a key requirement.
