An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the Corporate Insurance and Risk Management team as the Director Risk Management and Insurance. The role is highly profiled with a particular focus on North America and Latina and has a direct influence over premium spend. The relatively small department is newly formed and as such the role has much scope and opportunity to be innovative in moving forward and in looking at things afresh. As a candidate you will be a smooth negotiator who effectively monitors and challenges fees.

Responsibilities include:

• Placement of US insurance programs including Workers Comp, Marine, Construction, Motor, Property and Liability; Managing Latina reviews with GSK’s nominated regional broker
• Participate in purchase of some global insurance coverage’s as required.
• Manage insurance claims and associated loss prevention/risk improvement programs.
• Perform risk management & insurance contract analysis.
• Prepare budgets and monitor accruals.
• Monitor and follow-up on property insurance loss prevention program.
• Provide due diligence analysis as necessary.
• Review leases.
• Complete business interruption analysis including key supply chain exposures.
• Support and manage Product Liability claims reporting for GSK Captive and others.
• Maintain liaison with GSK legal departments for claims processing supporting the CIRM Director Liability Insurances as and when necessary.
• Ensure timely reporting on insurance and departmental operational issues to VP CIRM.

Basic Requirements

• Demonstrated Experience of domestic and international Risk Management & Insurance.
• Proven insurance negotiation skills.
• Bachelor's Degree required.

Preferred Qualifications   

• Formal Insurance qualification e.g. Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter.
• Formal Risk Management qualification eg. Associate in Risk Management.
• Fluency in Spanish preferred.
