Project Risk Manager (PRM)
Outline Project Description
The Government of the State of Qatar has embarked on the development of a new inland port site located approximately 25 kilometres south of Doha. The port is being designed to provide a number of facilities and to accommodate forecasted growth in general cargo and container traffic as well as vehicle and livestock imports. Construction is due to commence in 2010. The project is being delivered through a number of discrete construction, equipment and professional service contracts.
Responsibilities of the role:. The PRM will be required to carry out qualitative and quantitative risk analysis and prepare reports at pre-determined intervals. In addition the PRM will be required to be a strong advocate for embedding risk management into the day-to-day activities of the project.
Attributes: The PRM will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related subject (e.g. civil engineering, project management, construction management or equivalent experience) is required. A Masters level degree is highly desirable. The PRM will demonstrate an ability to meet deadlines; possess strong planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills as well as strong presentation, facilitation and communication skills. The PRM will be a strong and effective team player. Finally, the PRM must have an understanding of the overall risk management process (including ISO 31000) and have the ability to use MS Office, MS Project, @RISK and Pertmaster software applications. Knowledge of rudimentary statistics, including probability analysis, is required. A minimum of 5+ years of risk management is required.
