Education Advisory Board

In January 2013, the Institute of Risk Management established a global Education Advisory Board (EAB). The establishment of the EAB is part of a major review of the existing International Diploma and Certificate programmes, which is being led by Dr Lynn Drennan, IRM Education Programme Director.

The Education Advisory Board will provide guidance on the further development of IRM qualifications to ensure that they remain relevant, and internationally applicable, for risk professionals now and in the future. Specifically, the EAB is responsible for:

  • providing input to the development of a common body of knowledge and/or competency framework in risk management;
  • reviewing proposed structure, learning aims, learning outcomes, syllabus and learning materials for IRM’s qualifications;
  • making recommendations on the structure, learning aims, learning outcomes, syllabus and learning materials for IRM’s qualifications;
  • making recommendations for the development of new Specialist qualifications.
  • supporting IRM in achieving and maintaining external accreditation of the Institute’s qualifications;
  • supporting IRM in the development of key messages to help market and promote IRM’s qualifications;
  • identifying those who might best support IRM in all of the above

The Education Advisory Board members are experienced academics, educators and /or professional risk practitioners and are drawn from across the world – Asia, Australasia, Europe, North America and South Africa.
