The Institute will notify students of their results via post as soon as possible after the examinations, following internal and external moderation.
Moderation process
IRM has a stringent two stage moderation process for setting and marking examinations. The aim of the Institute's moderation process is to ensure:
- Quality assurance
- Examination papers are set in accordance with principles set by IRM
- Consistency and accuracy in marking each examination paper
Further details can be found in the Diploma Support Area.
Examiner feedback report
Students who achieve a Fail or Marginal Fail can pay a fee to receive feedback on their examination script. This service is NOT available for those who achieve a Pass, Merit or Distinction grade.
The examination script will be reviewed by an IRM examiner who will produce comprehensive feedback identifying areas where the student could have improved their performance and answers.
All feedback requests must be received in writing and by 14 September together with the appropriate fee. Under no circumstances will requests after this date be accepted. Students will receive their feedback via email within one month of IRM receiving their request and fee. The feedback report fee is £40 and is non refundable.
Appeals procedure
IRM aims to ensure that all assessments are marked fairly, consistently and accurately. However, on occassion, IRM recognises that a student may wish to appeal against a result given. Students may only use the Appeals procedure once they have requested and received the Examiner feedback report. Full details can be found in the Diploma Support Area. |
