Diploma in Risk Management: Fees and Enrolment

Enrolment

Enrolment for the International Diploma in preparation for the June 2013 examinations will open on

1 September 2012. 

Fees

Fees for 2012/13 will be posted here towards the end of April 2012.

What the module fee includes

The module fee includes on-line access to the following:

  • Detailed module handbook describing the course content for each module, plus guidance on studying, self assessed questions and case studies
  • Module learning materials
  • Practice examination questions
  • Examples of past examination papers
  • Entry to the June examinations

 

Annual student membership subscription

By enrolling on the Diploma you will be registered as a student member of the Institute and will need to pay the joining fee and the student annual subscription fee in addition to the module fees.  Our subscription year runs from 1 July to 30 June.  You will receive an invitation to renew your membership in June each year. If you do not pay your annual subscription you will not be able to sit the examinations nor will you receive your examination results.

Low-GDP Discount

A concessionary 15% discount is offered to students living, studying and sitting their examinations in one of the countries listed below.

IRM Partner and existing member discounts

A 10% discount on the module fees is available for existing IRM Affiliate or Certificant members who wish to enrol on the Diploma.  This discount on the module fees is only available for the first year of enrolment.

Members of SWERMA, NORIMA, MII, AIRMIC, PRIMA, ALARM the Chartered Quality Institute and subscribers to Fire Risk Management magazine (Fire Protection Association / Institution of Fire Engineers) who wish to enrol as students on the Diploma are not required to pay the IRM joining fee.

Additional costs

Workshops

Optional workshops are available to help students with their studies.  They provide an opportunity to meet with examiners and fellow students and to share information and experiences.  For details of dates, fees and how to book please click here.

 

Re-sits

If you are unsuccessful in your Diploma examinations you may apply to re-sit the failed module(s) in the following session.  A re-sit fee is payable per module.

Special Centres

Overseas candidates in areas other than those listed may apply for a Special Examination Centre.  The Special Centre application form can be downloaded here.  If your application is successful you will be required to pay an additional fee of £50 plus any local supplementary charges involved.

Refunds

We recognise that a change of circumstances may mean that a student has to withdraw from their course of study.  A refund of the module fees paid less an administration charge of £100 per module will be made if written notice is received by the Institute before the close of the enrolment period.  No refunds are permitted after the enrolment closing date.  The application fee and the student annual subscription are non refundable.

Diploma Regulations and Guidance for Students

By enrolling on the Diploma you will be deemed to have agreed to abide by IRM’s Code of Conduct and its Qualification and Examination Regulations.  An overview of the Diploma Regulations can be found here. Please ensure that you read these before submitting your application.
